Aston Villa midfielder Youri Tielemans has opened up about his disappointment after his side’s stoppage-time defeat to Manchester City.

Aston Villa fought back from the spot to beat Man City, drawing level through a Marcus Rashford penalty and almost sharing the points, but Matheus Nunes struck in stoppage time to give City a thrilling win.

“To lose like this at the last moment is infuriating. We had the first chance of the game, they had the last chance. They scored, we didn’t. That’s football.”

“We have four games left in the Premier League, we will give it our all and hopefully we will get a good result and we will be back where we want to be in the Champions League.”

“Saturday, we’ve got the semi-final which we hopefully can win and then we’ll see from there. We’re now fully focused on that.

“We’re just disappointed for tonight and we just have to analyse and see where we can be better.”

For Villa, who are in seventh place in the table, their next game is an FA Cup semi-final against Crystal Palace on Saturday, April 26, while their next league game is against Fulham on Saturday, May 3.
